Arsenal are braced for a busy end to the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta and Edu prepare the squad for the 2024/25 campaign.
From arrivals to departures, Arsenal will be eager to end the summer transfer window strongly having welcomed just one new face so far.
Signing Riccardo Calafiori was a smart move from Mikel Arteta to bolster the Gunners’ defence however, the Italian’s arrival could soon be overshadowed by a first-team exit.
Aaron Ramsdale’s future remains in doubt after becoming second-choice behind David Raya, with Arsenal’s transfer stance now made very clear.

Arsenal make Aaron Ramsdale transfer stance clear as Ajax make an approach
On Tuesday, renowned journalist David Ornstein broke the news of Ajax’s interest in the 26-year-old shot-stopper.
The Athletic reporter said that Arsenal have “rejected” Ajax’s approach to sign Ramsdale on an initial loan, adding that the Gunners’ preference is to offload the Englishman permanently.
Ajax are said to remain optimistic about the possibility of striking a deal for the England international, whose mind will be focused on leaving the Emirates this summer.
The Athletic’s report states that an initial loan “does not suit” Arsenal, who will surely be eyeing a sizeable fee in order to part ways with Ramsdale before deadline day.
Mikel Arteta must only part ways with Ramsdale if the price is right
Reports over the summer have suggested that Arsenal are demanding a fee in the region of £30m for Ramsdale, who has been eyed by several Premier League clubs this window.
Given the nature of the situation, it’s a transfer scenario that both the player and the club will want to be resolved promptly, but only if the price is right.
Wanting to cut ties with the shot-stopper permanently is Arsenal’s clear preference this summer, making Ajax’s motive dismissible unless a suitable offer is placed on the table.
