Arsenal have made initial enquiries over a move for Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze, Arsenal Insider understands.

The Gunners are on the hunt for several forward options this summer to help improve their scoring capabilities.

Arsenal could sign more than one winger in a surprising turn of events, while a centre-forward signing is almost certain, though it remains to be seen exactly who Andrea Berta lands on as his number one option.

Plenty of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for the wide areas, but moves are already being made for Eberechi Eze.

Arsenal enquire about Eberechi Eze transfer from Crystal Palace

Arsenal have made initial enquiries about a potential move for Eberechi Eze, Arsenal Insider understands, as they step up their chase for a forward.

Eze was part of the Arsenal academy at a young age, before he was released and took a different route through football.

Coming through at QPR, with a loan spell at Wycombe, the England international went on to join Crystal Palace, where he has thrived.

Now, all those years on from his release at Arsenal, the club are looking at the potential to bring him back to the Emirates Stadium.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey gave some more detail exclusively to Arsenal Insider, stating: “Arsenal want that other forward, we know that, and Eberechi Eze is a player they have admired for a long time.

“We know Tottenham are one of those to be making a push, but I am now told that Arsenal have indeed made enquiries.

“Whilst Rodrygo is seen as the first choice for the wide spot, Arsenal are doing work on other options, and Eze is one of them.”

Eze is reported to have a £68 million release clause, though there is seemingly competition for his signature.

Eberechi Eze covers two potential problem positions for Arsenal

While it remains to be seen how open Eze is to joining Arsenal this summer, a return could help his old club.

The Gunners have had issues with scoring in some key games, lacking goals from the wide areas and the midfield.

Eze covers off the left flank, offering an ability to cut inside onto his right-foot, with a strike that can beat the opposition with ease.

Not only does he play on the left, but he can also play as an attacking midfielder.

Martin Odegaard struggled last season for Arsenal and there was little cover or competition there for him when needed.

Eze is more than capable of playing there and could offer even more strength in depth in that area.
