Arsenal starlet Mika Biereth has shone on loan at Scottish side Motherwell this season, and he is now attracting interest from elsewhere as a result.
The 20-year-old has scored six times and provided five assists in 14 Sottish Premiership games this season, and was recently spotted back at Arsenal during Motherwell’s winter break.
Biereth is thriving out on loan, and his move has been nothing short of a resounding success so far. He has quickly become a key player for his side, and he has begun to score and assist at a good rate in what is a physically demanding league.
His strong goal record at youth level, which saw him score 12 and assist five times in 26 appearances for Arsenal’s under-23 side, has highlighted what a brilliant prospect he is, and it now seems that his form can translate to senior level.
Arsenal face dilemma over Mika Biereth loan
A report from The Star has revealed that struggling Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are interested in taking Biereth on loan for the second half of this season.
This is only possible if Arsenal agree to terminate his current loan contract with Motherwell before sanctioning a move to Wednesday, and this is what is causing the club a dilemma.
They now need to decide whether Motherwell or Sheffield Wednesday is the best place for his development to continue at what is a crucial stage in his young career.
Arsenal should reject further loan interest in Mika Biereth

The best thing for Biereth’s development now would be to let him continue at Motherwell.
Sheffield Wednesday are struggling near the bottom of the Championship, and Biereth would be entering an unfamiliar, high-pressure environment.
The Denmark under-21 International is in great form right now, having provided two assists in his last game against Hibernian, and disrupting this would be a huge risk.
He is a regular starter for Motherwell, but if he moves to Wednesday and finds himself on the bench, there will be regret from both the player and Arsenal that they jumped the gun and ended his loan.
Letting Biereth finish the season in Scotland before making a further decision in the summer would likely be the best course of action.
If he continues his fine form, there will be no shortage of loan interest from Championship or even Premier League sides next season, but a poor mid-season move could jeopardise that.
