Arsenal are reportedly favourites to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who Kieran Tierney has recently hailed as ‘world-class.
The La Liga maestro has been linked with a move to Arsenal for some time, with reports in January suggesting that the Gunners would activate Zubimendi’s £52m release clause.
However, as we know, Mikel Arteta’s side made no so much, though the odds of Arsenal moving for Zubimendi in the summer now seem likely, with a midfielder on the agenda for the north London side.
Arsenal now favourites to sign Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi

According to journalist Dean Jones, the Premier League giants are the current favourites to land Zubimendi, who is always wanted by the likes of Manchester United.
Recently hailed by Tierney as a ‘world-class’ player, Zubimendi could be an excellent signing for Arsenal if the likes of Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey leave north London this summer.
Indeed, given how long Zubimendi has bene linked with a move to Arsenal, it’s perhaps no real surprise that the Gunners are the side that are most likely to land the Sociedad star this year.
And with Arteta looking to once again spend big in the summer, Zubimendi could be an ideal midfield signing, especially if Arsenal can once again clear out some deadwood in the position.
Arsenal must do all they can to sign Kieran Tierney’s new teammate

Arteta has shown in his four years as manager of Arsenal that when the Basque coach wants a player, the Emirates Stadium boss is willing to wait out for a transfer to happen.
And such situation could happen with Zubimendi, with the Sociedad midfielder long linked with a move to Arsenal ever since the 25-year-old broke into the San Sebastian side’s starting XI.
Now, heading into the summer, Arsenal must do all they can to sign Zubimendi, especially with rivals clubs already interested in signing the Spanish international later this year.
