Arsenal are reportedly no longer viewed as one of the leading clubs to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, with the striker set to leave Napoli.
The Nigerian international has been strongly linked with a move to north London in recent weeks, with the £110m-rated attacker viewed as one of a handful of strikers Arsenal are looking to sign this year.
With Osimhen regarded as one of the best forwards in the world, it makes sense why the Gunners would choose to chase the Serie A superstar as an option to lead the attacking line next season.
Arsenal no longer favourites to sign Victor Osimhen

However, according to the Independent, the north London side are not one of the leading clubs to sign Osimhen, with Manchester United and PSG the current favourites for the forward.
With Arsenal linked with the likes of Ivan Toney and Viktor Gyokeres, it makes sense why Mikel Arteta’s side might have taken a step back in their interest in Osimhen.
However, given how good the forward is and how well-suited the Nigerian international would be for Arsenal, missing out on Osimhen could be viewed by many as a major blow for the Gunners.
Moreover, Osimhen heading to United, of all clubs, would sting even more for Arsenal, with the Arteta project way more enticing than what is currently happening at Old Trafford.
Gunners will hope a foreign club signs Victor Osimhen

Osimhen heading to the Premier League could spell trouble for Arsenal if they end up missing out on the Napoli talisman this summer.
With United now in the driving seat, the 25-year-old attacker could be a hit under Erik Ten Hag in Manchester, a prospect few Arsenal fans want to dream about.
As a result, the Gunners will be hopeful a non-English club can emerge as the winners for Osimhen’s signature if Arsenal themselves truly give up on the race for the striker.
