Arsenal are expected to be busy again in the summer transfer window, and several names have come out of the rumour mill already.
The Gunners’ full focus right now is on going all the way in the Premier League and Champions League, and they definitely are good enough to do both.
However, there are still a few weak spots in Arsenal’s squad, and the expectation is that Andrea Berta will strengthen those areas before the start of next season.
The attacking midfield role is one that could do with an upgrade, and a familiar name has been linked with a move to the Emirates – Julian Brandt.
Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?
Arsenal want to sign Julian Brandt for free
Brandt is not a new name at all to Arsenal fans.
The Germany international has never played in the Premier League before, but his name has always come up during transfer windows over the years.
Arsenal were first linked with a move to sign Brandt over five years ago, and those links have resurfaced in recent years as well.
Now, it has happened again.

Marca have revealed that Arsenal are battling Atletico Madrid in the race to sign Brandt in the summer transfer window.
The Borussia Dortmund star has already entered the final few months of his contract, and he will be available on a free transfer.
Arsenal must be aware of Brandt as he is a player they have followed in the past, but whether he is the right man for the club now is up for debate.
An argument can be made that the 29-year-old is inferior to both Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze, which is why it doesn’t make much sense to sign him.
Kai Havertz, however, may think otherwise.
👀 Who is the FIRST Arsenal player Andrea Berta must sell this summer?
Kai Havertz once claimed Julian Brandt was better than Erling Haaland
Havertz and Brandt are best friends, having played together at Bayer Leverkusen.
The two Germans know each other very well, and it looks like they have followed each other’s careers since separating many years ago.
Brandt was a part of the Dortmund side that had Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho playing at an extremely high level.
Those two players were viewed as the superstars of that team, but Havertz publicly claimed that Brandt was better than them.
He said in 2020, as per GGFN: “Sancho and Haaland don’t play too badly, but he (Brandt) is the best player at Dortmund at the moment.”
