Although many expect a quiet January window at Arsenal, the club may now be prepared to make a surprising move to progress Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Football Transfers have shared a report today detailing a couple of players that could leave Arsenal in the near future.

And the headline of those names is Eddie Nketiah.
The report claims that Arsenal are right on the borderline of the Financial Fair Play parameters and therefore could sacrifice the striker to fund another move.
Of course, Nketiah did sign a new £100k-a-week Arsenal contract back in June 2022, one that now runs until 2027.
However, this report suggests that the player is seen as expendable, a striker currently playing backup to Gabriel Jesus.
Of the three names mentioned, including Benjamin Sesko and Ivan Toney, Dusan Vlahovic is still said to be Arsenal’s priority signing if they can move on Nketiah.
Arsenal have long been linked with Vlahovic, but it would be a surprise if he arrived to Arteta’s squad in January.
As stated, Arsenal expect a quiet mid-season window, and Nketiah swapping places with Vlahovic would be pretty seismic.
Arsenal willing to sell Eddie Nketiah in January to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad
Although it would be a shock, an upgrade on Nketiah would seem like a sensible decision.
The striker is much-loved in North London, a player who has done brilliantly rising from the Hale End academy.

However, with emotion put aside, Jesus would benefit from competition from a reliable goalscorer.
Both Toney and Vlahovic do seem like the pick of the names mentioned, two players who could make an immediate impact.
Of course, there is still the idea that Arsenal would be better off assessing the situation next summer.
And that patience could pave the way for a quite incredible £120m signing, one that would transform the club’s fortunes.
It’ll certainly be a difficult balancing act for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta in January, teams are bound to be interested in their players, and situations will change.
However, the club would seem well advised to limit the disruption to their title challenge.
Arsenal do have a squad capable of winning the title, but as often is the case, a lot will depend on the fitness of Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey.
