Crystal Palace have now launched a bid to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
Eddie Nketiah has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal since the start of last season, and now finds himself behind the likes of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and perhaps even Leandro Trossard, in the battle for the right to lead the line at the Emirates Stadium.
A move this summer is very much what’s needed for the Hale End academy graduate. At this stage in his career, the 25-year-old needs to be playing regular football, and he does not feature heavily enough in Mikel Arteta’s plans to guarantee him the game time he requires.
The once-capped England international has come close to an exit on numerous occasions already this summer. First, Marseille pushed to sign Nketiah. Ultimately, though, the French outfit were unable to get a deal for the forward over the line.
More recently, Nketiah was linked with Nottingham Forest, before the Midlands club opted to pivot to an alternative target.
Now, though, it would seem that he has been offered another welcome exit route.

Crystal Palace given nod to move for Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah
Crystal Palace have now formalised their interest in the Arsenal attacker.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, reporting on X: “Crystal Palace have submitted an initial bid to Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah.”
The Eagles will now enter talks with Arsenal, after Nketiah himself “opened [the] door” to the South Londoners on Sunday. Presumably, this can be taken to mean that the striker informed Crystal Palace of his desire to make the switch to Selhurst Park.
It would be a wise move for the player, as he would stand an excellent chance of establishing himself as a regular starter for Crystal Palace.
Given a run of regular starts, Nketiah has the capacity to flourish at Premier League level.
Arsenal fans react to Eddie Nketiah bid
Many Arsenal fans on X have welcomed this approach from Crystal Palace, but are keen to ensure that their club fetch a decent price for the player who has been on the books at the Emirates Stadium since 2015.
One said: “Edu needs to accept anything above 20M. Time to close this chapter and find a forward.”
Another stated: “Great. Eddie Nketiah can do well for Crystal Palace!! Wishing him all the best!!”
