One player who was heavily linked with Arsenal has just agreed a blockbuster transfer.

Arsenal have been credited with an interest in a host of players this summer.

Many of the players who have been named in association with the North London club have been attackers.

Several strikers have come up again and again in reports, with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, and Ivan Toney amongst those most heavily linked.

However, unless there is some late drama at the Emirates Stadium on this Transfer Deadline Day, Mikel Arteta is not set to add any additional firepower to his attacking contingent.

Arsenal target Ivan Toney agrees Saudi Arabia switch

In any case, two of the aforementioned names are now off the table. Osimhen has agreed a move to Saudi Arabia, and news has just broken that Toney will be on his way to the Gulf state, too.

As reported by The Mirror, the Brentford forward has just agreed to join Al-Ahli in a move that will cost the Saudi Arabian club a total of £100 million.

The Bees will receive £40 million in exchange for the England international, whilst the striker himself will rake in £60 million in wages.

Of course, even if they had wanted to challenge for the player’s signature, there is no way that the Gunners could have competed with these financial commitments.

Al-Ahli are also the club set to sign Osimhen, as they willing to spend hugely to overhaul their front line.

Mikel Arteta’s stance on Ivan Toney

Whilst Arsenal couldn’t have matched Al-Ahli’s offer for Toney, the North London club’s stance on 28-year-old has already been made clear.

Arteta turned down Toney earlier this summer when the forward was offered to Arsenal.

Although Ian Wright has urged Arsenal to sign an attacker this summer, the Gunners have opted to focus on bolstering other areas of their squad instead.

Arsenal have added Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino to their defensive and midfield contingents, respectively, and have retained David Raya’s services on a permanent basis, too.

Meanwhile, they are currently seeking to make another addition between the sticks. Arsenal have agreed to sign Neto, with the Bournemouth goalkeeper having been identified as the man to replace Aaron Ramsdale.

It remains to be seen if Arteta will come to regret rejecting Toney or deciding not to focus his efforts on signing a striker.
