Arsenal have now been told what they will likely have to pay to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto this summer.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Pedro Neto before.
The Portuguese attacker has been in sensational form this season. In just 14 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old has racked up 2 goals and 8 assists for Gary O’Neill’s side.
Neto would certainly have made more appearances had he not suffered yet another injury earlier on in the campaign. Recurrent fitness issues have been the only thing holding the player back in recent years.
If he can overcome those problems, though, and stay fit for an extended period, then there is no telling just how good Neto could become. He has all the raw attributes, with his pace, flair, technical brilliance, and creativity, to be an absolute superstar.
It is easy to see why Mikel Arteta is drawn to Neto. As a left-footed right-winger, he could come to the Emirates Stadium and provide the kind of cover and competition for Bukayo Saka which does not currently exist in the Arsenal squad. It would be a huge boost for Arteta to be able to rest Saka on occasion, with a player of Neto’s quality on hand to play in the Hale End academy graduate’s stead. Equally, the presence of Neto pushing for a regular starting berth would also force Saka to have to be consistently at his best.
On top of that, Neto can also play on the left-flank if required, meaning he could provide cover for Gabriel Martinelli, too.

Could Arsenal do a deal for Pedro Neto?
However, Wolves would surely be reluctant to let their talismanic gem go. As such, he won’t come cheaply.
According to journalist Tim Spiers, speaking on the E&S Wolves Poddy, Neto’s “performances are incredible, he loves Wolves, he loves playing for them, he loves the supporters, he’s grateful for what the club has given him, but it does feel like it’s coming to that position so with Wolves and their financial position, they’re going to have to sell someone this summer if they want to generate funds into the squad to get the players that Gary O’Neil wants and the most obvious candidate is Pedro Neto. In terms of his valuation I mean you’re look at at least north of £60m for me. In terms of how good he is but clubs will be put off his injury record.”
Whether or not Neto can stay fit for the rest of the season may well have a huge bearing on both how much Wolves could expect to fetch for his signature, and whether or not Arsenal would deem it wise to pursue a deal for his services.
In the meantime, if Neto stays fit and continues to perform as he has done in recent weeks then he could soon find his value exceeding the £60 million estimation posited by Spiers.
