The final week of the January transfer window is just around the corner and Arsenal still have plenty of work they need to get over the line to strengthen the squad.
So far, the Gunners are yet to confirm any deals coming into the club, while a few players have left on permanent or loan moves.
For Mikel Arteta, the need for some players is clear, especially in the forward ranks as injuries start to bite Arsenal.
There is one possible deal on the table over the coming days, which includes a wonderkid being targeted by Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United.

Arsenal transfer target Sverre Nypan spotted in England
Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Sverre Nypan, the Norwegian wonderkid who is very highly rated.
The Gunners have seemingly looked towards landing the young midfielder as an option for the future, as well as the current situation of the team.
They aren’t alone in that interest though, as rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are also looking at the Rosenborg star.
He was spotted at the Etihad Stadium for the Man City clash with Chelsea, having flown to England for the match.
According to VG, Nypan was a guest of fellow countryman Erling Haaland, but currently doesn’t seem set to join him there.
Instead, the report states that Arsenal are “far ahead” in the race to sign the wonderkid, with interest in a deal this month.
It remains to be seen whether that can be confirmed before the end of the window and where he will fit in the squad.

January is perfect for Arsenal to seal Sverre Nypan transfer
It’s very rare that many big deals can be completed in January, but it makes the most sense for Arsenal to land Nypan in January.
The 18-year-old is likely to be in even higher demand in the summer, when rival teams see their PSR deadline pass.
The schedule works well for Nypan as well, with the Norwegian football schedule currently at the end of one season and entering the next.
It would mean a clean break from Rosenborg, rather than a mid-season switch in the summer as would be expected instead.
For Arsenal, it adds the ability to sign a youngster who can hit the ground running and offer plenty for the remainder of the season.
