Arsenal will not be able to sign ‘exceptional’ midfielder now all because of Cesc Fabregas

Arsenal have been linked with several midfielders already this summer.

The focus has been on central midfield, which is why players like Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Alex Scott among others have been linked.

However, the Premier League champions are open to reinforcements in attacking midfield as well, and one of their targets was Nico Paz.

Sadly, Arsenal will not be able to sign him anymore.

Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Nico Paz are over

Paz made a phenomenal name for himself at Como in the 2025/26 season.

The Argentine, still only 21, directly contributed to 21 goals from midfield and was even viewed by many as the best midfielder in the Serie A last season.

Arsenal had a look at Paz as a potential target while his future at Como remained uncertain.

Real Madrid exercised their buy-back clause and were ready to sell him, unless Como matched their demands and signed him permanently.

Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the Italian side have done just that, and Cesc Fabregas has been the driving force behind the scenes.

As a result, Paz, who was hailed as ‘exceptional‘ by Toni Kroos, will be joining Como again, which means he will not be heading to Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal should still consider signing a new number 10

Arsenal could do with a new attacking midfielder this summer.

Both Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard are fantastic on their day, but neither have been as prolific as Mikel Arteta would’ve liked.

Paz would’ve been an exciting addition for the present as well as the future, but his unavailability shouldn’t stop Arsenal’s pursuit of another number 10.

Someone like Morgan Rogers would be perfect for the North Londoners this summer, and there is a decent chance that they will sign him.

We think he will be a game-changer for Arsenal next season.
