Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez is a dream target for many Arsenal fans.

The Argentine is one of the best attackers in the world right now, and several top clubs are interested in his services.

Barcelona’s interest in Alvarez has been made very public already, while PSG are also keen on signing the World Cup winner.

Arsenal are also very keen, but like all the other interested clubs, they will have to pay a fortune to sign him.

Atletico Madrid demand Julian Alvarez’s release clause from interested clubs like Arsenal

Julian Alvarez will cost massive money this summer.

The former Manchester City star cost Atletico Madrid a whopping £81.5 million less than two years ago, and with four years still left in his contract, he will not come cheap.

Reports revealed recently that Arsenal have the resources to pay as much as £130 million to sign Alvarez, which would make him their record signing.

However, Atleti’s current stance make that massive figure look tiny.

AS in Spain have revealed that the message from Los Rojiblancos to all the interested clubs is very clear: they will only sell him if his release clause is met.

“Either €500 million or nothing,” is the clear message coming out of the Metropolitano.

Despite that, Andrea Berta intends to call Atletico Madrid to find out whether there is a deal to be struck for Alvarez.

The Italian knows everyone at the Spanish club well, having spent a decade there. In fact, he was the one who signed Alvarez back in 2024.

It remains to be seen if that could give Arsenal an edge in the race to sign him.

Arsenal may already have a backup option in case Julian Alvarez can’t be signed

Arsenal are right to do everything they can to sign Alvarez.

The Argentine is by far the best option for the Gunners, and he would take Mikel Arteta’s side to a whole new level if they can get him.

However, the Premier League champions are not putting all their eggs in one basket.

Arsenal have also enquired about signing Eli Junior Kroupi, who is a similar profile of a player to Alvarez, albeit less accomplished.

If Alvarez can’t be signed, we think Berta will push hard to land the Bournemouth star this summer.
