Arsenal are preparing for what is set to be a big summer transfer window.

The Gunners have brought in Andrea Berta as their new sporting director. He has replaced Edu Gaspar and has been tasked with helping the club reach the next level.

Arsenal need reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch this season, and they have been linked with plenty of names.

Berta is not messing around behind the scenes – his impact at Arsenal is already being felt by many clubs across Europe.

Barcelona ‘stunned’ by Arsenal’s transfer plans under Andrea Berta

Arsenal are so close to winning big trophies under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners narrowly missed out on the Premier League title in each of the last two seasons, and there is every chance that they will finish second again this term.

Arsenal have shown progression in the Champions League as well. They made it into the semi-finals of the competition.

The next step is to go all the way in both competitions, and Berta’s job is to bring in the final pieces of the jigsaw to give Arteta the firepower he needs.

If The Sun are to be believed, Berta is already working to get deals done.

The report claims that several European clubs, including Barcelona, have been ‘stunned’ by ‘Arsenal’s determination to get deals done quickly’ this summer.

It has been revealed that ‘the speed at which the Gunners have been lining up and progressing with targets – talking to key figures in player camps – has taken other clubs aback, who are now being forced to recalibrate and rethink their own transfer window strategy’.

Barcelona sources have reportedly told the outlet that ‘they expect to be blown out of the water in comparison’ to Arsenal this summer.

Andrea Berta needs to do one thing that Edu couldn’t at Arsenal

Edu Gaspar did a lot of good work during his time at Arsenal.

The Brazilian was the one who started the current project under Arteta and played a big part in laying the foundations for this rebuild.

Edu deserves a lot of praise for that, but the one thing he failed to do was sign a prolific goalscorer throughout his time at the club.

Andrea Berta must change that this summer, and early reports about how the Italian is working behind the scenes are really encouraging.

It remains to be seen who Berta will bring in to fill the void up top.
