Arsenal are already working on a number of transfer targets ahead of the summer window.
The Gunners are eager to bolster Mikel Arteta’s forward line with some new recruits, with several strikers and wingers being linked with a switch to the Emirates.
Alexander Isak is said to be Arteta’s dream signing, while Benjamin Sesko has been relentlessly linked with Arsenal for some time now.
However, the North Londoners aren’t prepared to put all their eggs in one basket and are exploring other potential options on the market.

Arsenal learn Hugo Ekitike’s asking price
With Isak likely to cost a fortune and Sesko struggling with his development to an extent this season, Arsenal will need to be scowering the market for alternatives.
According to German outlet Bild, the Gunners are ‘hot’ for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The publication claims that Frankfurt are willing to sell the number nine this summer, with the club’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, already identifying Mainz forward Jonathan Burkardt as a replacement.
The Bundesliga outfit are expected to make a move for Burkardt if Ekitike leaves, an eventuality they think will materialise.
Bild indicate that Arsenal are more keen on the player than the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester United, who are also in the race to land the talented attacker.
Frankfurt have set an asking price of €80 million (£67 million) for Ekitike, a fee they expect to extract from a potential suitor, given the season he’s having.
The Frenchman has scored 13 goals and registered four assists in 23 Bundesliga starts this season.

Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike’s statistics compared
Reports suggest that Sesko is Arsenal’s primary target ahead of the summer and that the club have done significant groundwork on a the deal already.
However, if it’s not too late, they should be looking to pivot to Ekitike instead.
Ekitike has been described as ‘phenomenal’ and in almost every metric you could find, the Frankfurt man usurps the Leipzig man, while the footage shows the former to be a significantly more well-rounded player.
Sesko strikes the ball as cleanly as anyone, but this doesn’t result in him scoring more goals and he’s able to do a lot less for the team than his counterpart.
| Statistical Comparison 2024/25 (Bundesliga Only) | ||
| Stat | Sesko | Ekitike |
| Appearances | 25 | 25 |
| Goals | 10 | 13 |
| Assists | 5 | 4 |
| Shots per 90 | 2.51 | 4.09 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.36 | 0.84 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 0.72 | 1.63 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.06 | 0.21 |
| Successful Take-Ons per 90 | 1.44 | 1.88 |
Averaging better creative numbers, better goal-scoring numbers and more dribbles per 90 minutes, Ekitike has the much higher ceiling.
It’s a no-brainer, and the Arsenal analytics department should be able to convince Arteta of this.
