Arsenal will be wary of one transfer target’s plans in the summer after attempting to poach the player in January.
With the fate of the Premier League all but decided, Arsenal fans have started to seek excitement from the upcoming summer transfer window.
Andrea Berta’s imminent arrival is adding to the expectation ahead of the window, with a strong presence required to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad.
After the January transfer window was a failure for Arsenal, emphasis is on what Berta can deliver ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Antoine Semenyo transfer discussed at Bournemouth
In the winter market, the only player the Gunners were reported to have made an official move for was Ollie Watkins, for whom a bid was instantly rejected.
There were, however, other targets, with it suggested late in the January window that Arsenal were eyeing Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth.
The Cherries winger remained at the Vitality in the winter, but the chances of a summer move are already being discussed.
That’s the understanding of TEAMtalk, who reported that Bournemouth held an ‘internal meeting’ to discuss the futures of Semenyo and his Liverpool-targeted teammate Milos Kerkez.
Interestingly, the forward recently made the headlines with regard to the Gunners, as Semenyo hinted that he’s an Arsenal fan when expressing his admiration of the Emirates Stadium.
Bournemouth are reported to want £50m for Semenyo, a price that is affordable for Arsenal, who will surely be eyeing a new winger in the summer.
Semenyo would be perfect for Arsenal
Being a right-footed player, Semenyo could be the ideal option for Arteta to rival Gabriel Martinelli on the left.
| Gabriel Martinelli | Statistic | Antoine Semenyo |
| 24 | Apps | 28 |
| 6 | Goals | 7 |
| 3 | Assists | 4 |
| 1.1 | Key passes (per game) | 1.3 |
| 1.1 | Successful dribbles (per game) | 2.1 |
Martinelli’s form has been questioned throughout the season, adding to the need for the Gunners to recruit a competitor for the Brazilian.
Described earlier in the campaign as ‘aggressive’ and ‘clinical’ by teammate Lewis Cook, via BBC, Semenyo could be the Premier League-ready forward Arteta’s squad so dearly needs.
Bournemouth are already readying themselves for interest in their star winger, who is a player admired in North London.
