Arsenal are reportedly now working on a deal to sign Galatasaray full-back Sacha Boey.
Arsenal are looking to bolster their defensive contingent in the current January transfer window.
According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are keen to add a left-back, as well as a striker, to their ranks this month. The north London club have been linked with Roma defender Leonardo Spinazzola, but now it would seem that another option has emerged.
As reported by Turkish publication Sabah, Arsenal have now made “contact” with Galatasaray to discuss a potential deal for Sacha Boey. It is thought that the Super Lig outfit are “open to offers” on the 23-year-old, who currently carries a €20 million price tag – equivalent to around £17 million.
Whilst Arsenal currently have a limited transfer budget at their disposal, Mikel Arteta is now working to move on two first-team players in order to raise funds to make two signings this winter. It could be the case that the Gunners are able to raise the funds required to get a deal for Boey over the line before the transfer window slams shut.

Who is Arsenal target Sacha Boey?
Boey began his career with Rennes, but did not really make his presence felt in the French top flight until he spent the 2020/21 season on loan with Dijon. In the aftermath of that campaign, the Frenchman was snapped up by Galatasaray, and he has not looked back since.
In Turkey, Boey has caught the eye with the attacking intent in his play. Whilst he is defensively solid, the player is also capable of making an impact in the final third and can be relied upon to get up the pitch with regularity to support his attacking teammates.
Boey has even previously caught the eye of former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna, who believes that the Galatasaray man would be a “perfect” fit for Arteta’s side. However, he also expects that the Gunners will face plenty of competition for his signature.
Boey primarily plays as a right-back, and is certainly more comfortable on that side of the pitch. However, he has been deployed as a left-back in the past. This versatility will be an attractive quality to Arteta, who has already tasked the likes of Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu with playing full-back roles on both sides of the pitch.
