Arsenal need more defensive depth, and are scouting several targets across Europe as they aim to find someone they can add to the squad without breaking the bank.
Jorrel Hato of Ajax has been linked, but a summer move appears more likely, and Arsenal could also do with a right-sided defender given that Ben White has been playing through injury since November.
One name which has regularly popped up over the last year is Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey. The 23-year-old has been outstanding for the Turkish giants, and an eventual big move seems inevitable.
However, it also appears that Boey may be unattainable in this window given Arsenal’s financial fair play constraints, as they have now learned how much they will have to pay for him.
Arsenal learn Sacha Boey price tag
A report from Spanish outlet AS has now revealed that Galatasaray will want a minimum of €25m (£21.5m) to consider selling Boey.
In normal circumstances, this would be a price Arsenal could easily afford, and a depth option of Boey’s age and quality at that price would definitely be worth a gamble.
However, Arsenal currently need to sell before they can buy, and without this, any incoming transfer looks unlikely unless they can agree a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy, like in the case of David Raya.
Boey has scored four and assisted four goals in 81 appearances from right-back, and would add a speedy and defensively sound option on the right to cover for White, who could himself provide more rotational cover for William Saliba.
Sacha Boey would be a good fit at Arsenal

Comments made by former Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna in April 2023 highlight why Boey would be a good addition for Mikel Arteta.
“Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey is a player I really like,” Sagna stated in an interview.
“I think he will fit perfectly into Arsenal. As a right-back too, I have to say I think he’s great. I’m sure many clubs have Sacha Boey in mind.”
Arsenal have also been linked with Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen, but again, this deal only seems possible in the summer.
Arteta has a depth problem in defence which needs solving in this window, and Arsenal will need to be creative in the market to find a solution which will not further damage their FFP status, but this will also mean that targets like Boey will likely be unattainable and they may have to settle for a short-term deal.
