Antoine Semenyo has been linked with a move to several clubs, including Arsenal.
The Bournemouth attacker has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season, and he is of interest to a number of top teams.
The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal all like him, but only one club can get him in the winter window.
David Ornstein has now explained why the Gunners will not be the ones to land Semenyo.
If you were Andrea Berta and could sign any player in the world right now, who would it be and why?
Arsenal’s stance on signing Antoine Semenyo
Antoine Semenyo is very likely to leave Bournemouth in January.
The Ghana international has a £65 million release clause in his contract, and he deserves a move to a bigger club after his performances over the last 18 months.
It is no secret that Semenyo is an Arsenal fan, and like Eberechi Eze in the summer, we’re sure he would be interested in a move to the Emirates if all the pieces fall into place.
However, Ornstein has revealed that although the Gunners like him, any move from Andrea Berta would only come in the summer.
Semenyo is not keen on waiting that long.

Speaking about the situation, the journalist said on NBC Sports: “The names that are emerging as the leading contenders right now are Manchester City and Manchester United, in no particular order. They are both extremely fond of him.
“Liverpool are said to have had great admiration for him. They haven’t moved to the same extent so far, to my knowledge, but let’s see if anything changes around the Alexander Isak injury, because we have just broken the news that Liverpool fear that it is a significant injury to his lower left leg.
“Tottenham were very keen, and I’m led to believe were prepared to pay a significant salary to Antoine Semenyo, but he’s politely focusing on other options, mainly it seems City or United, and he will have to make a decision around that.
“I think Arsenal might have looked at the situation, but more towards the summer, and I don’t think he’s willing to wait until that point.”
Imagine you can sign Antoine Semenyo right now but ONLY if you sell one current Arsenal winger. Who are you shipping out?
Arsenal may regret not signing Antoine Semenyo but they have no choice
Semenyo is likely to be the biggest name in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old is at the perfect age to make the next big step, and we really think he would be excellent on the left wing for Arsenal. But that move is unlikely to happen.
Semenyo could join Manchester City instead and become a superstar there. Arsenal will surely regret not signing him if that happens.
However, the Gunners have plenty of wingers already, and it would be very difficult to justify bringing another one in before sales.
In January, no Arsenal attacker is expected to leave the club, so Berta has no choice but to wait until the summer. By then, Semenyo will likely be at a different club, which is a shame.
