David Ornstein reveals the massive fee Arsenal will have to pay to sign Antoine Semenyo this summer

Arsenal will be on the market for a new wide player this summer.

The Gunners have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left, while Bukayo Saka is the main man on the opposite side. Ethan Nwaneri has done a great job on the right flank, but his best position is through the middle.

A new winger is a necessity for Mikel Arteta this summer, and Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth.

But, the talented 25-year-old will cost an absolute fortune this summer.

How much will Arsenal target Antoine Semenyo cost this summer?

Semenyo has been on Arsenal’s radar for the better part of a year now.

The Englishman is having a fantastic season for Bournemouth. He has played a big part in helping Andoni Iraola’s side dream of European qualification.

That has resulted in a lot of interest in the 25-year-old, with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle, along with Arsenal, keeping an eye on him.

But, any club that wants to lure him away from Bournemouth will have to spend a fortune.

David Ornstein has claimed that the Cherries will demand a club-record fee for Semenyo, which means he will cost more than the £65 million that Tottenham paid to sign Dominic Solanke last year.

The journalist said in a Q&A on The Athletic: “Semenyo has a lot of interest, too, but there’s no clause, so that will need to be a club-record sale in excess of what Spurs paid for Solanke.”

iNews also revealed recently that Bournemouth want £70 million for Semenyo.

Antoine Semenyo’s stats compared to Arsenal’s wingers

Semenyo is a very, very good player.

The Bournemouth star can play on either wing, and he has the ability to get past opposition full-backs with ease, thanks to his dribbling.

But, is his output good enough for him to play for Arsenal?

Semenyo’s output this season has been slightly better than that of Martinelli and Trossard, but they don’t blow them out of the water.

For Arsenal to go to the next level, Arteta should be looking at players who are capable of scoring and assisting a lot more than Semenyo has done.

The Cherries star would be a great player to have for Arsenal, but definitely not at £65 million. There are better options out there for that fee.
