David Ornstein has issued a major Arsenal transfer update after a brutal delivery of injury news.
Arsenal had gone quiet on the transfer front, but now, Andrea Berta has been forced back into action.
The focus was on sales, but due to a key injury, plans have changed for devastating reasons.
Journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic broke the news regarding Kai Havertz, who is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury.

Arsenal looking for a new striker after Kai Havertz injury blow
Havertz missed Arsenal’s opening training session ahead of the clash against Leeds United, as did Ben White and Christian Norgaard.
Arsenal’s squad depth in defence is very strong, but in attack, there are problems, meaning any lay-off for Havertz is a major concern.
As a result, it’s now understood that Arsenal are ‘actively exploring the transfer market’ to identify another striker.
Ornstein stressed that ‘assessments are at an early stage’, so there’s no update on the severity of the injury and how long the German will be out of action for.
Havertz underwent surgery in February to repair a hamstring injury sustained in training whilst Arsenal were in Dubai.
The 26-year-old actually returned before the season ended, as Arsenal’s doctors were shocked at Havertz’s recovery time, only for the forward to now suffer yet another blow.
Arsenal’s transfer plans dramatically change
It wasn’t only sales that Arsenal were focused on, as it was also made clear on the opening day that a new winger is desperately needed.
The focus has now shifted again, as Arsenal cannot rely on Viktor Gyokeres to stay fit and firing in Havertz’s absence.
After spending £64m on Gyokeres to bolster the front line, the Gunners are back to square one, putting pressure on Berta to recruit another forward to replace the German.
Whether Arsenal will sign another number nine profile or look at a more versatile asset to cover both roles remains to be seen, with the main concern being Havertz’s wellbeing at this moment.
