Arsenal star Kai Havertz has broken his silence on the injury he suffered while in Dubai, admitting that the past week has been “tough” for him.
The striker was seen as a key part of the Premier League title challenge for the Gunners, having been the only remaining centre-forward option after Gabriel Jesus picked up an ACL injury.
While Mikel Arteta backed the German international to play many of the remaining games of the season, that took a huge twist.
That’s because, just days after, Kai Havertz picked up a season-ending hamstring tear injury that came as a blow.
It leaves Arsenal with no recognised senior striker options left in the squad, meaning that the side will have to get creative.

Kai Havertz reveals successful hamstring surgery after injury
With Havertz facing some time out, there was an expectation that he would undergo some surgery to help fix the problem.
A return date of pre-season has been touted by the club, though it remains to be seen just how the recovery will go.
There was some good news from the striker though, who took to social media to break his silence on the situation.
He said: “The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op [operation] and a win.”
“Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped. I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background.”
The star will now begin his recovery process, which will start with a few weeks of using crutches to assist his walking before stepping it up even further.

Kai Havertz must take note of Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka impact
The long-term injury for Havertz will be frustrating for all involved, though not least the player who won’t be able to have the same sort of impact on the pitch as he watches on.
One thing he may have to do is follow in the footsteps of Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, who have both had months out injured.
The pair have been looking to have a greater impact behind the scenes, whether that’s through encouraging the rest of the group or helping them coach through situations.
Havertz is still an important part of the dressing room and the wider group as a whole and can still impact the team in that way.
