Arsenal have always been a very attractive club for top players.
The Gunners are a global brand and one of the biggest teams in the world. That has been the case for years, but Mikel Arteta has taken them to a whole new level in recent seasons.
That has allowed Arsenal to sign stars like Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Eberechi Eze in recent years, and there will surely be more in the coming seasons.
One player who would love to join Arsenal is Antoine Semenyo, but that deal will not happen now because he is going to Manchester City.
How worried are you by Manchester City’s move for Antoine Semenyo?
Arsenal would’ve been Antoine Semenyo’s first choice
Semenyo is expected to leave Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
The Ghana international has been incredible for the Cherries in recent seasons, and his performances this campaign have been outstanding too.
Manchester City are on the verge of signing Semenyo in the winter window, and we have no doubt that he will be a hit under Pep Guardiola.
However, before City came into the picture, the Bournemouth star had his sights set on Arsenal, who are the team he used to support growing up.
David Ornstein has revealed on The Athletic now that there is a feeling that Semenyo’s ‘first choice’ would’ve been a move to Arsenal.
He said: “The strength of interest and Semenyo’s readiness to leave made an immediate switch likely, and all suitors held talks prior to a final decision materialising.
“There is a feeling Arsenal would have ranked as his first choice had they been firmly at the table.”

Arsenal’s priority in January is clear
It was always unlikely that Arsenal would sign another attacker in January.
The Gunners brought in Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke in the summer, so there is no need for another attacking player.
The priority has to be a new defender.
If you were Andrea Berta and could sign any player in the world right now, who would it be and why?
Arsenal have a major problem at the back due to injuries. Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie are all out injured at the moment.
Arteta is so short of options at the back that the only defender on the bench in the Gunners’ Carabao Cup quarter-final was 16-year-old Marli Salmon.
That is the reason why all eyes at Arsenal must be on a new defender in January.
