Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a long time.
The Gunners have been in need of an out-and-out centre forward since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the club back in January 2022.
Gabriel Jesus has not been the answer, and although Kai Havertz has been amazing, he isn’t someone who will score 25 or 30 goals a season.
Arsenal fans have been crying out for a new number nine, and Isak is a dream target for many supporters.
David Ornstein shares update on Alexander Isak amid Arsenal links
Arsenal always tend to avoid making big moves in the January transfer window.
The Gunners prefer to do all of their business in the summer, and the winter window is usually an option for emergencies or if a big opportunity arises.
We don’t know if Arsenal are planning to be active in January, but the fact that they are nine points behind the top of the table is enough reason for them to consider making a big signing.
A new striker could make a serious difference, and Isak has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
David Ornstein has now claimed that the Newcastle United star is exactly the type of player Arteta would want in his side. But, the journalist says this move may not be feasible for the Gunners because of the Toon’s demands.
He wrote in his Deal Sheet on The Athletic: “In an ideal world, Alexander Isak is precisely the type of forward Arteta would love to add to his attack: athletic, intelligent, versatile and Premier League-ready.
“The obvious obstacle, however, is cost. With Newcastle desperate to hold onto their star striker, such a deal may not prove feasible.”

Which other striker could Arsenal sign in 2025?
Isak would’ve been ideal, but Newcastle United will surely demand a fortune for him. Arsenal have shown in the past that they will not overpay for anyone, so this deal is very unlikely.
That is a shame, but there are a few others who Arteta could make a move for.
In the same Deal Sheet, Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal are likely to go back in for Benjamin Sesko if he shows any indication that he wants to leave Leipzig in 2025.
Another option would be Viktor Gyokeres, whose price has dropped by £25 million. That means the Gunners could get him for around £58 million in January.
Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is also an option for Arsenal, but whether the Gunners will go back in for a player who previously rejected them remains to be seen.
