Arsenal have been linked with a summer move for Wolves winger Pedro Neto, but they may be handed a blow as Manchester City are also eyeing him up.

The 23-year-old has suffered from injuries this season, but has been outstanding when he has played, notching up a goal and eight assists in 11 Premier League games.

Arsenal have been touted as a possible destination, and his agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly begun working on a summer exit for the Portuguese winger.

However, there is likely to be no shortage of interest in Neto, and Manchester City have now also been named as a club who could aim to sign him in the summer.

David Ornstein reveals Manchester City interest in Pedro Neto

Answering a question in The Athletic, journalist David Ornstein revealed that Man City are targeting a winger, and Pedro Neto could be of interest to them.

“I’m constantly hearing another winger is on the agenda,” he stated.

“With Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku their options on the left and Phil Foden tipped to play a more central role going forward — plus the constant uncertainty about Bernardo Silva — that right side appears to be the area of focus.

“Players such as Pedro Neto will be on City’s radar.”

Although Arsenal pulled off a coup in securing Declan Rice ahead of Manchester City in the summer, they may not have such good fortune in the market again, with Mikel Arteta seemingly set on strengthening his options in attack.

A striker looks to be on the agenda, with Victor Osimhen linked, and this would take up a huge portion of Arsenal’s budget.

Neto is a target as Arsenal need to add more pace in wide areas, but if they are set to go toe to toe with Man City over him, they may not be able to secure him ahead of a title rival.

City targeting a winger means that whoever is of interest to Arsenal, may also be of interest to them, and their superior financial powers means that they are already one step ahead when it comes to landing a top-class attacker in the summer.

Michael Olise has also been linked, and City did pursue him in the summer. Any young winger currently excelling in the Premier League may be of interest to both sides to strengthen their depth, and it will remain to be seen who each club ends up making a move for.
