Arsenal could break their sale record in this summer’s transfer window.

The Gunners are expected to be very active on the market. All eyes are on incomings, but as many as 10 Arsenal players have been put on the chopping block.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have both left the club on initial loan deals, and we’re sure there will be more names going out of the door soon.

One player who could be sold may enter the Arsenal history books.

Emile Smith Rowe could become Arsenal’s most expensive sale ever

Emile Smith Rowe has been a wanted man in this window.

The Arsenal number 10 is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium. He is adored by everyone at the club even though he has barely played since the start of the 2022/23 season.

Injuries have cost the 23-year-old a regular place in Mikel Arteta’s side, and that has led to reports that he will leave Arsenal this summer.

A number of clubs in the Premier League are interested in signing the versatile Englishman.

Fulham have already had a bid rejected by Arsenal for Smith Rowe, but they are expected to return with a bigger offer.

The Athletic have now had their say on the situation.

The outlet highlights how now is the time for Arsenal to sell Smith Rowe because he has two years left on his contract. Delaying a sale by 12 months will hurt his transfer value.

The report adds that Arsenal will record pure profit by selling Smith Rowe because he is an academy graduate. It has been claimed that Edu Gaspar could potentially even ‘record the highest sale in the club’s history’ by negotiating the right deal.

The transfer fee Arsenal need for Smith Rowe to set new sale record

Fulham’s first bid for Smith Rowe was turned down by Arsenal.

The Daily Mail have revealed that the offer from the Cottagers was an initial £30 million plus bonuses, which would’ve made him Fulham’s record signing.

If Arsenal had accepted that offer, Smith Rowe would’ve been the Gunners’ second-most expensive sale of all time – ahead of the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Folarin Balogun and Alex Iwobi.

The most expensive sale in Arsenal’s history was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool for an initial £35 million plus add-ons taking the fee up to £40 million.

In today’s market, Smith Rowe, branded as ‘brilliant’ by Perry Groves, is easily worth more, and Edu should hold out for a club-record fee if the Englishman is to be sold in this window.
