A Euro 2024 sensation has now told Arsenal and Liverpool they ‘know what to do’ to secure a transfer this summer as the Premier League rivals consider making a move.

Fighting over the top-flight title is not enough for the Gunners or Reds as their focuses move onto the market. Arsenal and Liverpool missed out on the trophy last season as Manchester City won a fourth Premier League title in a row. But fine margins split the teams in the table.

Arsenal ended the campaign a meagre two points shy of their first Premier League title in 20 years. The Emirates Stadium outfit even boasted the best defence with just 29 goals allowed in 38 games. Just Manchester City (96) also outscored the north Londoners (91) in 2023/24.

Arsenal and Liverpool target Dani Olmo opens up on a potential transfer from RB Leipzig

Yet Mikel Arteta thinks Arsenal have room to improve their creativity and has shown interest in the transfer of Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig. The Spain star also features on shopping lists at Liverpool and FC Barcelona, and has also been linked to Man City and Manchester United.

But interested parties face an imminent deadline to secure his transfer before RB Leipzig can up their asking price. Cadena Ser, which spoke to Olmo, notes that he has a €60m (£50.5m) release clause. It was due to end on July 15 but will go to July 20 due to the Euro 2024 final.

Olmo has now warned teams like Arsenal and Liverpool that they will ‘face a fight’ if they do not trigger the release clause in time. The Spain star also states that he has made it clear to those close to the midfielder what he plans to do after Euro 2024 after four years in Saxony.

“You know what you have to do [if you want to sign me],” Olmo outlined on the Cadena Ser show El Larguero. “If it’s later, you’ll have to fight a little.

“We’ll see. I have a contract with RB Leipzig. It’s not something I think about. The people I trust already know my opinion and what I want to do. That’s the only thing that matters.”

Olmo, a product of Barcelona’s academy, put suitors on notice last term with eight goals and five assists in 25 games for RB Leipzig. He endured an injury-hit start to the season that kept the midfielder from kicking on until 2024. Now, the 38-cap Spaniard is thriving at Euro 2024.

Three goals and two assists from five appearances, of which the Terrassa native has started just two, puts Olmo in contention for the Golden Boot at Euro 2024. He has found the back of the net in Spain’s Round of 16, quarter-final and semi-final ties ahead of playing England.

With Spain reaching the Euro 2024 final also extending his release clause by five days, Olmo may have one final chance to audition for a transfer to Arsenal, Liverpool et al this Sunday in Berlin. Otherwise, the maestro may return to RB Leipzig, where his contract runs until 2027.

In this week’s episode of the Arsenal Insider Podcast, Will Jones and Rahul Lakhani debated England’s dramatic win over the Netherlands to reach the Euro 2024 final. With Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka having opposing times, their roles against Spain were debated.

Arsenal are also closing in on agreeing to the departure of Nuno Tavares with a transfer now edging closer, so the pair have examined where it all went wrong for him. Jones and Lakhani have was also looked at the interest Fulham are showing in Emile Smith Rowe this summer.
