Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic made Serie A history as Juventus beat Sassuolo 3-0 on Tuesday night to also receive a standing ovation amid Mikel Arteta eying his transfer.

The 23-year-old was the star of the show as the Bianconeri thrashed the Neroverdi at home. Vlahovic lit up the Allianz Stadium with efforts in the 15th and 37th minutes before Federico Chiesa (89’) rounded off the scoring. The win strengthened Juventus’ spot in second place.

It was the first time since December 2021 that Vlahovic has been involved in a goal over four consecutive Serie A appearances. He also scored over the Old Lady’s victories at Frosinone and Salernitana. While the 25-cap Serbia ace also assisted their winner at home to AS Roma.

Vlahovic fires Juventus to victory amid transfer interest from Arsenal

Vlahovic now has nine goals and two assists through his 18 Serie A appearances, starting 13, so far this term. He also broke the deadlock in stunning style against Sassuolo with a fierce strike from outside of the area. The forward would secure his brace with a perfect free-kick.

USMNT ace Timothy Weah was in disbelief as he watched Vlahovic’s free-kick from 24 yards out fly into the near, top corner of Andrea Consigli’s net from a tight angle. All the while the Juventus striker is attracting interest from Arsenal in a potential transfer in the January sales.

Reports by TV Play claim that Arsenal could offer Charlie Patino to Juventus in a player-plus-cash transfer for Vlahovic. The 6 ft 2 attacker has remained a firm target for Gunners coach Arteta despite rejecting a move to north London to sign for the Bianconeri in January 2022.

Allianz Stadium chiefs also admire Patino, who Juventus are scouting during his loan spell at Swansea City. So, Arteta and sporting director Edu are considering a part exchange move for Vlahovic’s transfer involving the Arsenal academy graduate to afford Juventus’ asking price.
