Fabrizio Romano says one Arsenal player will have ‘many clubs’ interested in transfer

Arsenal could be set for several profitable sales in the transfer market this summer, and there are a number of players attracting interest.

There may be some unpopular sales, as Arsenal look to capitalise on their good form and cash in on squad players whilst their values are high, and homegrown talents would represent pure profit in terms of profit and sustainability rules.

The likes of Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson could be sold with this in mind, but youngster Mika Biereth could be another who departs.

The striker has thrived on loan at Sturm Graz, and will have one year remaining on his contract at the end of the season.

Fabrizio Romano explains Mika Biereth Arsenal situation

In his Daily Briefing, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Arsenal will wait before making a decision over the 21-year-old, but Biereth’s form has attracted a lot of interest.

“There will be a race for Mika Biereth this summer for sure, many clubs are interested in the young Arsenal striker,” Romano claimed.

“But Arsenal have been clear on their position: no decision will be made now, internal talks about him will follow later this year. So on this one, interest is there and will likely grow in the next weeks but it’s not something serious yet.”

Biereth is at a point in his development where he needs to be playing regularly, and this is unlikely to happen at Arsenal for now.

However, the signs are there that he could potentially develop into a top striker, and there would be some level of regret if he is sold and goes on to explode even further.

A sale with a buyback clause may be the best move if Arsenal can pull it off. Given his contract situation and relative inexperience, Biereth is unlikely to command a huge fee, and a low-price sale to a club where he could be the first-choice forward, with a buyback option available, would allow Arsenal to cash in now without giving up on his future.

Biereth’s form at Sturm Graz has drawn comparisons with Rasmus Hojlund of Manchester United, and if the striker continues to develop at the rate he has so far, it may only be a matter of time before he finds goalscoring form at an even higher level.
