Arsenal are set for a busy summer transfer window, both in terms of incomings and outgoings, and several players could be set to leave.

Mikel Arteta is seemingly keen on adding a midfielder, a striker and even a winger to his squad, and this could mean that several fringe players are sold to make way for new incomings.

The likes of Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and Pedro Neto have all been linked, and a new defender could even join given the injury problems faced by Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber.

Journalist David Ornstein has now named six players who could end up attracting interest and potentially leaving in what could be a massive window for the club.

David Ornstein names six possible Arsenal sales

In a Q&A with The Athletic, Ornstein named six players who could all attract “suitors” for potentially lucrative sales.

“You could envisage Aaron Ramsdale, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah all being looked at by suitors. I expect a really busy summer at the Emirates,” Ornstein claimed.

Arsenal did not spend during the January transfer window amid concerns over financial fair play and profit and sustainability rules, and given the heavy spending of last summer, and recent losses announced after the 2023 financial year, selling assets at their peak value will be the most sustainable way to keep funding new transfers.

Ramsdale is a popular figure at the club, but he has been usurped by David Raya and deserves to play regularly. As an England International on a long-term contract, he would be one of the most valuable assets to sell, and it appears likely that he will leave.

Nuno Tavares is on loan at Nottingham Forest with an option to buy, but it seems unlikely that they will exercise it. Olympique Marseille were keen on a permanent deal in January, and should their interest remain, they could be an option for him in the summer.

Sambi Lokonga has been impressive on loan at Luton Town, but is still unlikely to gain many chances if he returns to the Emirates. His value will be high in the summer, and Arsenal will hope for a good fee from a mid-table Premier League side.

Tierney is on loan at Real Sociedad, but has struggled with injuries and his future remains unclear. Despite his outstanding quality, it remains to be seen what kind of market there will be for him in the summer.

Emile Smith Rowe has started to show glimpses of his best form in limited minutes following injury struggles, and whilst he would attract a good fee, Arsenal should not sell him given his potential to become a starter within the next few seasons.

Eddie Nketiah looks destined to leave given Arsenal’s interest in a striker, and Crystal Palace are amongst the teams interested in a potentially big-money deal for him.
