Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign a few players in the ongoing transfer window.
The Gunners are always hesitant to do business in January. They prefer the summer window, but injuries and their position on the table could force their hand.
Arsenal fans are hoping that Mikel Arteta will dive into the market for reinforcements, and a few exciting attackers in the Premier League have been linked.
Fabrizio Romano has now shared some bad news regarding two of them.
Fabrizio Romano shares update on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha amid Arsenal links
Arsenal need reinforcements in attack.
Bukayo Saka won’t be back for at least two months following his injury, while Kai Havertz has been struggling as well. Ethan Nwaneri is out for a few weeks now too.
A new attacker in the winter window would help a lot. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Wolves star Matheus Cunha are targets for Arsenal.
Gooners would love either of them in this window, but Romano has claimed that moves for either player are unlikely to happen.
He said on GiveMeSport: “Brentford have no plans to part ways with Bryan Mbeumo despite links with some of the biggest clubs in England.
“He’s doing fantastically and Brentford want to keep Mbeumo at least until the end of the season – only a completely crazy proposal could change the scenario.
“Not even that would change the scenario at Wolves where Matheus Cunha’s set to sign a new deal with salary improved as part of the agreement.
“He’s been monitored and appreciated by Arsenal for months, but he was too expensive for the January window and untouchable for manager Vitor Pereira, who’s started very well at the club.”

Arsenal fans should be prepared for one disappointing scenario
A move to sign a player from a smaller club is usually the go-to option for the big sides in the January transfer window because top stars aren’t usually available.
That is the reason why Arsenal signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton a couple of years ago, and interest in Mbeumo and Cunha suggests the same too.
However, the two Premier League attackers are set to stay at their current clubs at least until the end of this season, which is a big blow for Arsenal.
We urge Gooners to be prepared to see Arteta sign nobody in the coming weeks. There’s still a long way to go before the window shuts, but it is looking more and more likely to us that the Arsenal manager will not be able to get any of his targets.
If that does turn out to be the case, Arsenal fans should back the players who are at the club and trust Arteta to get the best out of them in the second half of the campaign.
