Despite everyone expecting a quiet January transfer window for Arsenal, Marc Guehi seems to be emerging as a serious target.
Guehi is destined to leave Crystal Palace at some point and came close to signing for Liverpool in the summer.
Now, though, it is Arsenal who are in the mix as well, with Guehi’s recent appearance at The Emirates prompting speculation that he fancies the switch.
Arsenal enter the Marc Guehi race, in your own words WHY?
Nevertheless, Palace will want good money for their man and at the moment, it seems like a case of who is willing to pay and pull the trigger in order to land Guehi.
Now, when it comes to Arsenal’s interest, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on where things are.
What Arsenal have now done in their bid to sign Marc Guehi
Speaking on the latest episode of his ‘Here We Go‘ podcast, Romano got onto the subject of Guehi and Arsenal.
And in his own update, he revealed that Arsenal have indeed put calls into Crystal Palace over Guehi.
“They are really interested in Marc Guehi. There are several clubs prepared to sign Marc Guehi on a free transfer in the summer because he’s gonna leave Crystal Palace on a free. And so there is for sure Liverpool, there is for sure Bayern, also Arsenal made some calls a few weeks ago to understand the situation of Marc Guehi,” Romano admitted.

“So there will be a crazy battle in the summer over a free deal, but Manchester City want to do the deal now following the injuries of Ruben Dias, the injury also of Josko Gvardiol. They are very keen on Marc Guehi. Let’s see what the player decides.”
Marc Guehi needs to carefully consider his next move
There is no doubting that Guehi is good enough for Arsenal and he strengthens the squad. That much is clear and for Mikel Arteta, he’d be a strong signing.
For Guehi, though, this is a move that could define his career and with Arsenal already having so much strength in depth in defence, it would be a bold move for him.
What is the maximum fee you would pay for Marc Guehi in January considering Arsenal can sign him for free in the summer?
Yes, he might fancy his chances of becoming a regular but in Gabriel and William Saliba, he has two defenders ahead of him who are simply not getting dropped.
For Guehi’s own interests and England hopes, he needs regular football. A move to Arsenal, as it stands, simply does not provide him with that.
