Aaron Ramsdale’s Arsenal future has been up in the air since the end of the 2023/24 season.

The Englishman started that campaign as the number one, but he lost his place after just three games. David Raya replaced him, and he became Mikel Arteta’s main man.

Arsenal have turned Raya’s loan into a permanent deal, and that all but confirms that Ramsdale will not be getting his place back in the side.

That has opened the door for Ramsdale to leave the club, and Fabrizio Romano has shared what people in the game are saying about his future.

What ‘sources in the industry’ are saying about Aaron Ramsdale’s Arsenal future

Arsenal were open to selling Ramsdale as soon as the transfer window opened.

It was clear very early on that Raya would be signed on a permanent deal and he would keep his place as the number one at the club.

Ramsdale has plenty of admirers in the Premier League, but there has been one key problem all along – his price tag.

Arsenal have been demanding £50 million for Ramsdale, which has proved to be extremely expensive for all the clubs interested in his services.

However, Romano has claimed that the Gunners still want to move him on permanently in this window, so much so that they are rejecting all loan bids that have come in.

The journalist has further revealed that people in the industry think Ramsdale will be leaving Arsenal before the window shuts.

Romano said in his Daily Briefing: “There have been many rumours about Ramsdale, but he has several possibilities.

“One of those is Bournemouth because they will not be signing Giorgi Mamardashvili anymore as part of the Liverpool-Valencia deal. Bournemouth are continuing to look for a new goalkeeper and Ramsdale is an option.

“Wolves could also be one to watch as they’re keeping a close eye on the situation of Ramsdale, but as of today, Arsenal are rejecting all loan proposals as they only want a permanent transfer or a loan with obligation.

“Let’s see if they will find a solution, but the overall feeling from sources in the industry is that Ramsdale will leave Arsenal before the end of the summer transfer window.”

Arsenal have already found Ramsdale’s replacement

Arsenal have already loaned out Karl Hein this summer, while new arrivals Tommy Setford and Lucas Nygaard are not quite ready for the first team.

That leaves just Raya and Ramsdale, and only the former is guaranteed to stay.

Arsenal had to look for an option to replace Ramsdale amid all the uncertainty over his future, and they have laid the foundation already.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Joan Garcia of Espanyol, and he will be the main target if Ramsdale leaves the club.

There’s just over a week left in the transfer window, and it will be interesting to see what will happen with Ramsdale in the coming days.
