Arsenal and Real Madrid could be involved in a transfer this summer.

It is no secret that the Gunners are interested in signing Rodrygo Goes, and almost every Arsenal fan will agree that he would be a stunning signing.

Arsenal should do everything they possibly can to sign the Brazilian this summer, especially as it looks like Rodrygo is open to a move away from the Spanish capital.

But, the 24-year-old isn’t the only Real Madrid player Arsenal like.

What Real Madrid said after Arsenal asked about signing Arda Guler

Arda Guler is a phenomenal talent.

The Turk joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023, but he hasn’t quite had the game time that he would have liked.

Despite being at the club for two full seasons, Guler has started just 23 games in all competitions. He is nowhere near being the first choice.

Graeme Bailey revealed on TBR Football that Arsenal enquired about signing Guler this summer, just like they struck a deal for Martin Odegaard three years ago.

But, the Galacticos’ response was different this time – the Gunners were told that he is not on the market under any circumstances this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Arsenal Insider, Bailey added: “Arda Guler is a wonderful player, like Rodrygo, Arsenal keep informed about his situation regularly.

“But they have been told that the young Turk will not be leaving – at this point, he is seen as a key player for Real.”

Arsenal’s interest in Arda Guler is concerning news

In an ideal world, Guler would be a phenomenal signing for Arsenal.

The youngster is excellent on the ball, has incredible vision, and he has shown that he can create and score goals as well. Guler has even been compared to Lionel Messi.

But, interest in a left-footed attacking midfielder is concerning because Arsenal already have Odegaard, Ethan Nwaneri and also Max Dowman coming through – they are all similar to Guler.

Arsenal Insider exclusively revealed recently that Nwaneri is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal, while Odegaard didn’t have a great 2024/25 season.

Are Arsenal looking to upgrade or replace any of them? Only time will tell.
