Looking long-term, Arsenal will have a considerable job on their hands next summer when attempting to find the perfect striker partner for Kai Havertz.

Right now, Mikel Arteta can turn to either Gabriel Jesus or Leandro Trossard should Havertz be missing or if Arsenal are simply resting their first-choice number nine.

Perhaps Jesus is now being underrated owing to his regular absences in recent years, but it has been widely concluded that Arsenal will need to seek an upgrade eventually.

Ian Wright was right to ask fans to stick with Jesus, the Brazilian can still offer so much in N5 this season.

But stylistically, it no longer seems as if the former Manchester City striker is the right man to dovetail with Havertz, given neither are prolific goalscorers.

Arsenal told why they should revive their Brian Brobbey interest in 2025

That being said, Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann perhaps offered Arteta a bit of advice when speaking after his side’s victory against the Netherlands at the weekend.

Germany won the tie 1-0 but Nagelsmann recognised that Ajax striker Brian Brobbey caused his side all kinds of problems during the win, a player who has been linked with Arsenal.

Arsenal were eyeing Brobbey this summer, a player who was seen as an alternative to the likes of Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko.

And perhaps Nagelsmann has just outlined why Arsenal should continue their interest moving forward.

Speaking after the win, Nagelsmann said: “He’s physically very good. I brought him to Leipzig, but then I left, which was unfortunate.

“He’s not a classic striker who just stands in the penalty box and taps the ball in. He is difficult to defend.”

Despite Nagelsmann’s compliments, there’s no doubt that Brobbey would still be considered as a ‘project player’.

22-year-old Brobbey scored 22 goals in 43 games across all competitions for Ajax last season, also registering 12 assists.

However, the Dutchman has only managed one in 11 this term – numbers bettered by former Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom.

Signing a striker with room to improve does seem appropriate for Arsenal, who will no doubt continue to start Havertz as their number nine in ninety percent of games.

However, it’s hard to conclude that Sesko wouldn’t be a more exciting acquisition than Brobbey, a player who currently presents a higher ceiling.

That being said, Alan Shearer has highlighted why Arsenal need a different signing all together after England’s latest win.
