German outlet Fussball Transfers revealed this week that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are in talks with Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi over a summer move.

The Frenchman spent the last 12 months on loan at Hertha Berlin and it looks like he impressed Dortmund while he was there. BVB are reportedly on the lookout for a new midfielder, and it is claimed that they really like Guendouzi.

The 22-year-old is undoubtedly one of the most talented young midfielders in the world. He really does have the potential to go very far in his career, but his poor attitude could ruin everything for him.

Mikel Arteta and Guendouzi fell out after the Frenchman’s altercation with Neal Maupay at Brighton last year. It doesn’t look like that relationship can be repaired now, and that is why Arsenal are working ever so hard to get rid of him.

Dortmund, who will be in the Champions League again next season, have a phenomenal record of buying young players for cheap and converting them into world-class superstars. You can even call them the Arsene Wenger of football clubs, they are that good at what they do.

Guendouzi, labelled as a ‘big character and leader‘ by Gary Neville, could well become the latest in their long list of successful transfers. Arsenal aren’t really demanding a lot of money for him, but every supporter knows that his value could triple in a matter of months if he joins Dortmund this summer.

Gooners aren’t really keen on selling the Frenchman to the German giants, and rightly so. Here’s how a few of them reacted to the news on Twitter.
