How Khvicha Kvaratskhelia really feels about signing for Arsenal now

Arsenal are looking at signing a new left winger this summer.

Sadly, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard haven’t been good enough over the past 18 months, and it’s time for Arsenal to get an upgrade.

Anthony Gordon has been linked, while Morgan Rogers has also been mentioned.

However, perhaps the most interesting link as of late has been Arsenal’s links to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Unfortunately though, according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on Market Madness, this deal may not be one that is likely to go ahead.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia off the table for Arsenal

Arsenal’s search for a new left-sided attacker has taken a clear turn, with Ben Jacobs confirming that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is not a realistic option.

The Georgian winger has been linked with a move, but the latest update shuts that down quickly.

“With Kvaratskhelia, my information is quite firm from PSG sources that quite simply is not for sale, and also the player doesn’t want to leave anyway. So that one’s a non-starter,” Jacobs said.

Kvaratskhelia would have been an ideal fit on paper. He brings directness, creativity, and the ability to change games individually, all qualities Arsenal have lacked at times this season from the left. However, with both the club and the player uninterested in a move, it is not a deal that can develop.

Jacobs also outlined the broader picture.

“With Arsenal, they’re almost certainly going to add a left-sided player, with the advantage of Rogers that he can also play at number 10. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Anthony Gordon are two names on the left that Arsenal like,’ Jacobs added.

Arsenal are actively looking to upgrade or at least add competition on the left wing. Performances in that area have been inconsistent, and there is a growing sense that a new profile is needed to bring more reliability and threat.

Anthony Gordon remains a possibility, but that deal comes with competition, as Jacobs reports:

“With Gordon, Arsenal face competition from Bayern Munich and others in Europe and in the Premier League too.”

If Gordon proves difficult to secure and Kvaratskhelia is off the table entirely, Arsenal will need to explore alternative options. This is where Morgan Rogers becomes more relevant.

“Maybe it opens the door for Arsenal to enter the race for Morgan Rogers,” Jacobs concluded.

Where Arsenal go from here remains to be seen, but it would appear Kvaratskhelia isn’t likely to come to the Emirates this summer.
