Chelsea are targeting a move for AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun, and the potential transfer will help secure Arsenal millions.

Arsenal sold the Hale End graduate for £34.6 million back in the summer of 2023, and the striker has continued to impress in Ligue 1 with Monaco.

The 24-year-old is enjoying a strong World Cup campaign with the United States, netting two goals in his first three matches at the tournament and helping secure the host nation a spot in the Round of 32.

Now, following his impressive form for both club and country, another transfer could be in order, and a return to the Premier League is on the cards.

Chelsea want to sign former Arsenal player Folarin Balogun

Chelsea want to sign former Arsenal player Folarin Balogun as one of Xabi Alonso’s first transfers, according to Caught Offside.

Monaco have set a £47 million valuation on the striker following his impressive form for them last season and his start to the World Cup.

Balogun has been one of the best players at the World Cup, and his form looks set to earn him a return to English football.

The Blues are keen to sign another striker after selling Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap, with Balogun one of their key targets.

Arsenal have a sell-on clause for Balogun as part of the deal that saw him move to Monaco, and they could now benefit from it.

The Gunners will receive 12.5 per cent of the fee from Balogun’s move, which could amount to around £6 million.

Arsenal are currently looking at moves for Morgan Rogers and Bruno Guimaraes, and any money towards those deals would be greatly received.

Rogers could cost around £100 million; meanwhile, Arsenal think Bruno will cost them £65 million, meaning sales will be required to fund these deals.

Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard are among the players Arsenal have transfer-listed, but Balogun could now bring in additional funds.
