Arsenal have been busy already in this summer transfer window.
Arsenal have already made three signings in the shape of Kepa, Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi, and there’s more where that came from.
Indeed, Arsenal are still in the market for more signings, Noni Madueke is set to join the Gunners, while Cristhian Mosquera is expected to join too.
However, perhaps the most important signing Arsenal will make this summer is a new striker.
Arsenal have needed a new number nine for quite some time, and now, it looks like Viktor Gyokeres is Arsenal’s top target.
Speaking to Sports Mole, Charles Watts has been discussing Arsenal’s interest in Gyokeres, and he says that this deal is incredibly close to being done.

Viktor Gyokeres is ‘virtually an Arsenal player’
According to Watts, this deal is very close to being completed.
The journalist went as far as to say that Gyokeres is ‘virtually an Arsenal player’ at this point.
Gyokeres is an ‘incredible’ striker, and he could well be just what the doctor ordered at the Emirates.
“He is virtually an Arsenal player. But at the time of recording he’s not yet. You can’t yet completely celebrate it because you know wilder things have happened in the past of transfers where the players are literally had their media photos taken and not even ended up signing,” Watts said.
“So you can’t celebrate it just yet but look we are very very close. You know Arsenal fans can start practicing that celebration. I would say right now that I’m certainly expecting Viktor Gyokeres to be an Arsenal player potentially by the end of the week.”
Why hasn’t Viktor Gyokeres signed for Arsenal yet?
By all accounts, this deal is heading in the right direction.
Gyokeres really wants to sign for Arsenal, and Arsenal have an agreement in principle to sign the striker.
So, why isn’t a deal done yet?
Apparently, the fine details of the payment structure and add-ons included in this deal are proving to be a hold-up at the moment, and while some reports in Portugal want you to believe this deal is set to collapse, as Watts says, it’s incredibly close to being done.
It would take something catastrophic to happen for this deal to collapse at the last minute, and, as Watts says, Gyokeres could officially join Arsenal by the end of this week.
Arsenal have been looking for a new striker for a long time, and now, it looks like they’re finally about to get their man.
