Arsenal fans have been getting excited after being linked to Julian Alvarez recently.

The Argentine is one of the most talented attackers in world football, and he has shown his class in the Premier League, La Liga and at the international level already.

Arsenal had a look at Alvarez before signing Viktor Gyokeres in the summer, but their interest in him has not gone away.

The Gunners remain keen on signing the World Cup winner in 2026.

Prove me wrong, Julian Alvarez is still a player Arsenal should sign.

Julian Alvarez’s preferred club is not Arsenal, but the Gunners still have hope

If Julian Alvarez becomes available, some of the biggest clubs in the world will queue up to sign him.

The former Manchester City man is a unique talent. He can play anywhere in attack, is a proven goalscorer and hasn’t even entered the prime years of his career yet.

Arsenal were right to look at Alvarez last summer, and if TeamTalk are to be believed, they are interested in signing him before the start of next season.

The report claims that Arsenal have held talks with intermediaries about a move for Alvarez, as have their Premier League rivals Chelsea.

It has been revealed that the forward is ‘growing increasingly frustrated with life at Atletico Madrid’ and could be on the move in the summer.

The bad news for Arsenal and Chelsea is that Alvarez’s preferred destination is Barcelona. However, the Catalan giants’ financial troubles could ruin a move.

In case that happens, the 25-year-old is open to a return to England, but only if a club from London comes calling.

Arsenal will have to beat Chelsea to his signature in that event.

Arsenal may have a secret advantage over Chelsea in Julian Alvarez race

If it comes down to a battle between Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign Alvarez, the Gunners could have an advantage.

Andrea Berta spent over a decade at Atletico Madrid and has already proven that he is a tremendous negotiator on the transfer market.

The Italian could use his connections at his old club to sway a deal Arsenal’s way, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to convince Alvarez to make the move either because the Gunners are the better club compared to Chelsea.

However, the problem for Mikel Arteta’s side is that the Blues can offer crazy money – well over what’s required – to reach an agreement with Atleti.

Arsenal definitely won’t do that.
