Juventus have opted to exclude a player from their pre-season squad after the club received an approach from Arsenal to discuss his transfer in this summer’s window.
The Bianconeri are presently in Germany as they hold a mini training camp to start their off-season schedule. Juventus jetted out last weekend as Thiago Motta starts to get acquainted with his new players after replacing Massimiliano Allegri at the helm earlier on this summer.
Motta has even already sought to leave an array of names in Turin for various reasons. A few players have remained at the Old Lady’s Continassa base for fitness reasons to work closely with their medical team. Juventus also left a star back after Arsenal made a transfer enquiry.

Juventus excluded Federico Chiesa after Arsenal made an enquiry
That is according to Sport Mediaset, which reports that Arsenal have contacted Juventus to discuss a transfer for Federico Chiesa. The 26-year-old has now entered the final year of his contract and has one foot out the door in Turin with the player and club increasingly distant.
AS Roma are also patiently keeping tabs on the Italy forward’s situation with no team yet to make a bid. SSC Napoli are also monitoring developments, with Chiesa becoming ever more likely to leave Juventus after Motta excluded him from their mini training camp in Germany.

Motta elected to leave Chiesa at home with the other players Juventus have placed on their transfer list. He had reported at J Medical to undergo fitness tests ahead of flying back over to Germany. The 51-cap winger had helped Italy make the last 16 at Euro 2024 this summer.
Juventus have slapped a £17-21m asking price on Federico Chiesa
Arsenal have so far only carried out an enquiry to see if Juventus would consider sanctioning a transfer for Chiesa. But Motta leaving him out of their mini training camp in Germany may now persuade manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu to return with an initial offer.
Motta did not exclude Chiesa for fitness reasons after the Genova native played in all four of Italy’s Euro 2024 ties this summer. He also started in three fixtures after offering Juventus 10 goals and three assists last season. Chiesa scored nine and assisted three goals in Serie A.

But Chiesa is now free to leave Turin as Motta wants to take Juventus in a new direction, per Fabrizio Romano. So, Juventus have slapped a €20-25m (£17-21m) price tag on Chiesa as he will be out of contract in June 2025. Their asking price might not put Arsenal off a swoop.
Chiesa, who Giorgio Chiellini has called ‘unstoppable’, could give Arteta a versatile threat to provide Arsenal with cover for Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and co. The forward featured from the wings only six times in Serie A last term with 27 outings for Juventus in the middle.
