Arsenal are eyeing a new forward to add to Mikel Arteta’s squad before Deadline Day, with Kingsley Coman rumoured to be an option.

While Arsenal are not in the running for a striker, the Gunners could make a late push to acquire a winger before the summer transfer window slams shut on Friday night.

Bayern Munich’s Coman has emerged as a target for Arsenal, with time ticking to see if there is a deal to possibly sanction.

The Frenchman is also accumulating interest from Saudi Arabia, putting his future very much up in the air, however, Edu and Arteta are said to be aware of the forward’s transfer stance in Bavaria.

What we know about Kingsley Coman to Arsenal

Rumours of Arsenal’s plot to make a late swoop for Coman come from the Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel, who broke the news on Thursday morning.

Mokbel’s report outlines the interest that Coman is generating, as he is looking for his next club after making it clear that he wants to leave Bayern this summer.

It’s claimed that the Gunners have ‘explored a swoop’ for the France international as Arteta remains focused on acquiring a new wide player before Friday night.

There are both positives and negatives to the possible deal, with the winger’s £300k-a-week wage demands more likely to be met in Saudi Arabia than at Arsenal.

That being said, the North Londoners can offer Coman the chance to continue playing at the top level in Europe, opening the doors to a potential Premier League move.

The Champions League feat that Coman shares with Kai Havertz

In the instance that Coman did sign for Arsenal before tomorrow night, the Frenchman would join only Kai Havertz as having achieved one remarkable feat.

Coman and Havertz would represent two Arsenal players who have scored in Champions League finals, with both players having scored the winning goals for their respective teams during their careers.

Havertz of course won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 against Manchester City, scoring the only goal, with Jorginho and Gabriel Jesus featuring in the fixture.

The same happened to Coman in 2020, as the winger scored the decisive goal for Bayern against PSG to win the Champions League in a career-defining moment.

Both of the player’s winning goals took place in Portugal, with Coman having the potential to join an executive club at Arsenal being a Champions League winner and a Champions League final goalscorer.

Arteta needs to add players with such experiences to his squad, who are aiming to achieve European success themselves in the coming years.
