Manchester United have now approached Fluminense to discuss a transfer for Andre Trindade amid rival interest from Arsenal as the Red Devils look to replace Casemiro.
That is according to Football Transfers, which also claims that Liverpool have now pulled out of the race for Andre. A host of Premier League teams have taken a firm interest in striking a deal for the 22-year-old. Manchester United are also only the latest to speak to Fluminense.
Old Trafford chiefs have approached the Copa Libertadores champions with Andre expected to leave in January. The Red Devils wanted to make their interest known despite uncertainty over who will drive their signings. Fulham had recently emerged as the favourites for a deal.

Manchester United approach Fluminense to discuss Andre’s transfer
Manchester United chiefs moved to inform Fluminense of their interest as Casemiro has an uncertain future at Old Trafford. The 31-year-old has struggled for form so far this term and could leave the Red Devils. He is potentially open to joining a Saudi Pro League side, as well.
Casemiro vacating Old Trafford within two seasons of his £70m arrival would clear a path for Andre at Manchester United. Liverpool have also eased the Red Devils’ route to a deal after Jurgen Klopp moved on to other targets. But Fluminense are eying €30-40m (£26.5-35m).

Andre has a contract with Fluminense until 2026 but is likely to leave in the January window. He will likely have a host of suitors eying deals, as well, so will view game time as a deciding factor. Arsenal are amongst the other teams interested in Andre’s transfer from Fluminense.
Arsenal are interested in Andre as Fluminense prepare to cash in
Brazilian journalist Thiago Ferreira reported in October that Arsenal were exploring Andre’s transfer from Fluminense. He also cited Liverpool’s interest in the two-cap Brazil talent who made his debut this June. Andre has also featured 54 times with Fluminense so far this year.
Fluminense echoed Andre’s importance and the transfer interest from Arsenal, Manchester United et al in their price tag. President Mario Bittencourt has also admitted he might leave during January. But the Maracana chief wants the midfielder to be the Tricolor’s record sale.
“We are waiting,” Bittencourt admitted, via Globo. “Today, there is no concrete proposal for Andre. But we are sure that after the [Club] World Cup – he will play in the World Cup – a stratospheric proposal will arrive. It could be the biggest sale in the club’s history.”
