Arsenal will have a few big decisions to make in the two transfer windows in 2025.
The Gunners have barely put a foot wrong in recent windows. Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta have done a fantastic job and deserve a lot of praise for the way business has been conducted.
Arsenal did some good work in the summer of 2024 too. They brought in five players and sanctioned several sales and loans as well.
One player who looked like he was going to leave was kept at the club in the end.
Many clubs want to sign Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal
Arsenal signed Jakub Kiwior in a deal worth £21 million including add-ons in January 2023.
The Pole was brought in as a backup option at centre-half as well as left-back, and he has played 42 times under Arteta in all competitions so far.
After Arsenal signed Riccardo Calafiori in the summer, many people felt that Kiwior was no longer needed. The Italian filled all the roles that the Pole did and he is a much better player.
However, in what was a surprise to everyone, Arteta told Kiwior that he wanted him to stay, and that blocked any exit despite interest from several clubs.
Chris Wheatley has now revealed that multiple teams in Italy wanted to sign Kiwior in the summer, and the Pole is not short of options now either.
In one of the two windows in 2025, there will be offers for Kiwior, and it is very likely that the Gunners will move him on then.
Wheatley said on ShotsTV: “Looking ahead to January, there’s a possibility for a loan and maybe in the summer even a (permanent) departure because there was a lot of interest in Kiwior from Italy in the summer – AC Milan, Genoa, quite a few teams were looking at him.
“But, in the end, Arsenal didn’t let him go. But yeah, there’s certainly no shortage of interest for one of the best defenders in Poland at the moment.
“I think Kiwior, on his day, can get into a lot of teams’ defences. But, at the moment, Arsenal just have such a good centre-back pairing, so it’s going to be difficult for him.
“Like I said, Italy is a potential destination for him. He has already played there and it’s somewhere he could potentially go either in January or more likely in the summer.”

Why Kiwior has been really unlucky at Arsenal
Arsenal were right to sign Kiwior in 2023 – he checks a lot of boxes.
The Pole is versatile, excellent on the ball and is a solid defender. He is good in the air too and has produced some very impressive performances for the Gunners.
But, Kiwior has William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes ahead of him in the heart of the defence, while Calafiori, Jurrien Timber and even Oleksandr Zinchenko are more suitable options at left-back.
That’s not Kiwior’s fault at all – he’s just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
We can see the Poland international leaving Arsenal in 2025, and we really think he will be a solid addition to several clubs that are on the market for a new defender.
