Bayern Munich star Mathys Tel is in the middle of a transfer tug-of-war between Arsenal and Manchester United in the final day of the window.
The Gunners are looking to add more firepower to the squad, with injuries piling up for Mikel Arteta’s key stars.
With Arsenal on the search for a new star in their ranks, there have been some issues to deal with over the transfer market.
Targets such as Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko were deemed impossible to get over the current window, while an offer was rejected for Ollie Watkins.
Attention turned to Mathys Tel, with an exit from Bayern Munich seemingly on the cards in the market.

Arsenal transfer target Mathys Tel prefers Manchester United move
Arsenal have made contact to sign Tel in the January transfer window, with intentions of stepping up over a possible switch.
The 19-year-old faces a decision though, as it seems like Manchester United are also in the race to land his signature.
With a bold decision to make, it comes as a blow to the Gunners that Tel seemingly prefers a move to Old Trafford.
According to Florian Plettenberg, the Frenchman has chosen Man United over Arsenal if a switch is on the cards.
The door isn’t completely closed on a move though, as Man United are yet to get a deal over the line with Bayern Munich.
An initial approach has been rejected by the Bavarian side, while negotiations with Arsenal still remain on the cards.
With a move described as “complicated”, it could still turn out that Tel ends up at the Emirates Stadium.

Mathys Tel transfer decision could ruin Arsenal’s season
If there’s one area that Arsenal need to improve in, it’s their forward ranks.
That is why the Gunners have pushed to make a move for Tel, along with a whole host of other players in the market.
With approaches rejected for others, the Bayern Munich star appears to be one of the only options left before the window slams shut.
If Tel decides to join Man United instead of Arsenal, then the Gunners will have very little time to land the right player in the remaining hours.
It’s unclear just how that could impact the side, but with dwindling numbers in the forward ranks and some big games coming up in cup competitions, the lack of reinforcements could cost the side dearly.
