With such a strong foundation in place at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar will only be looking to add the finishing touches to their squad moving forward.
The arrivals of both Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calafiori at Arsenal this summer have greatly improved the squad depth available to Mikel Arteta.
In recent seasons Arsenal have arguably struggled to keep pace with Manchester City, predominantly in the final third of the campaign.
Arteta’s side have perhaps struggled with mental and physical fatigue, but not because the Arsenal manager was lacking numbers, rather he was short on players he truly trusted.
But with Merino and Calafiori on board, and with Jurrien Timber back fit, Arsenal fans can expect a lot more rotation moving forward.
Mesut Ozil thinks Arsenal linked midfielder Arda Guler will be a superstar
That being said, if Arsenal will be targeting luxury signings moving forward – players like Arda Guler may come into consideration.
Arsenal were interested in Guler in the summer, an attacking midfielder who shone for Turkiye at the Euros.

And if Arsenal needed another reason to launch a bid for the Real Madrid man in the future, Mesut Ozil has just provided one.
Speaking recently, Ozil was asked by a fan if he preferred Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, but the former Gunner didn’t choose either, he opted for Arda Guler.
And considering that Arsenal have also shown interest in Nico Paz of late, it seems as if the club could be in the market for a new number 10 – perhaps someone to replace Fabio Vieira.
Arteta sanctioned a loan for Vieira back to FC Porto this summer, and it is increasingly hard to imagine a future for the Portuguese midfielder in north London.
Arda Guler can follow Martin Odegaard’s path to Arsenal
Given his obvious potential, some may feel that it’s a bit of a pipe dream for Arsenal to sign Guler from Madrid.
However, the Turkiye international is actually in a similar position to Martin Odegaard once was in the Spanish capital.
Guler is only a bit-part player under Carlo Ancelotti, starting just three out of 10 games for Madrid so far this season.
Guler is still only 19-years-old, but he’s already proven whilst playing for Fenerbache and his national team that he’s capable of excelling at the highest level.
And given all of the immovable talents ahead of him at Madrid, it’s interesting to wonder just how long it will be before Guler becomes seriously frustrated.
