Arsenal are considering a move for Dusan Vlahovic this summer, Arsenal Insider understands, though he isn’t the club’s current first-choice striker.

It comes as the Gunners are looking to bolster their centre-forward ranks over the summer transfer window, following calls to do so for some time.

So far, the likes of Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko have been linked with Arsenal, with the pair appearing to be the main options touted.

With Andrea Berta set to be appointed as sporting director soon, the plans for the summer will take greater shape which could see yet more change.

It remains to be seen if his arrival could switch the targets in mind, with Arsenal very aware of Dusan Vlahovic as another player on the cards.

Arsenal aware of Dusan Vlahovic transfer option

Just a few years into the Mikel Arteta reign, Arsenal looked to bolster his options with a new striker in the transfer market.

Dusan Vlahovic was a target in the January 2022 window, but it wasn’t to be as he opted to join Juventus instead.

It was a blow for the Gunners at the time, though the arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City the following summer made plenty forget about that chase.

In the years since, Vlahovic has impressed for Juventus but with his contract now nearing the final 12 months, he is facing an exit.

The Serbian international has recently been snubbed by Thiago Motta in favour of Randal Kolo Muani, who joined Juventus on loan in January.

Plenty of things point towards a potential exit for Vlahovic, which could open up the chance of a move.

Arsenal Insider spoke to TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey about a switch, to which he said: “Vlahovic is a player of interest to a lot of teams.

“We know Arsenal tried to buy him before he went to Juventus. I think clearly, he is not the first choice however, I do believe he’s someone under consideration at Arsenal that’s for sure.

“We know he’s a player they like, he’s only just turned 25, he’s got everything.

“If you could get him for less than £30m, yes he would come with a sizeable wage packet but, I think he’s one under consideration for sure.”

Dusan Vlahovic praised by teammate Timothy Weah

Listening to Vlahovic’s teammates at Juventus paints a picture of a player who is very highly thought of within their ranks.

So much so, that USMNT international Timothy Weah claimed he wouldn’t trade him for Victor Osimhen in a press conference.

Speaking in 2023, he said: “He is [Vlahovic] among the best in the world. I see him and Chiesa extremely determined to drag us to victory.

“He is a huge striker, because he scores a lot and knows how to do everything else well. I really enjoy interacting with him on the pitch.

“I would never trade him for [Victor] Osimhen: they are two extraordinary players, but Dusan is perfect for this team.”

It has been a tough season since then and it remains to be seen what the future holds for Vlahovic.
