Arsenal fans are torn over the latest rumours linking them with a move for Galatasaray and Napoli star Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window.

It comes as the Gunners look to actively take to the market in search of new attacking options, for two key reasons.

The first is that Mikel Arteta has struggled to get the team firing in front of goal, with more clinical alternatives needed in his frontline.

Another reason relates to the injury crisis his side is facing, with the forward ranks looking particularly depleted for Arsenal.

With plenty of links surrounding who could be the centre-forward addition they need, Victor Osimhen is the latest to be rumoured with another move across.

Arsenal have previously been linked with a transfer for Osimhen, though the star never did make the switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Over the summer, he made a blockbuster loan switch from Napoli to Galatasaray as he eyed opportunities away from the Serie A.

While it was signed as a season-long loan, Osimhen’s deal includes a break clause that would allow for him to move elsewhere.

Recent rumours have linked Osimhen to Arsenal, with the 26-year-old able to add another dimension to the attack.

Supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the deal, with one saying: “Osimhen is available for €60m, surely he’s worth that and if he does well we can then offer him to another club for the same amount after 1/2 seasons? A striker pairing of Osimhen and Isak playing 2nd and 1st choice would be excellent. I strongly don’t think we’ll get Isak tho.”

Another fan added: “Zero doubt Osimhen would get us the title.”

Other supporters were less confident, stating: “Zero chance this happens to be honest,” and “We are tired.”

“Osimhen would strike some fear into opposition defenses !!” one fan said confidently, while another added “Please be true Osimhen is the perfect striker for this team.”

It shows how torn Arsenal fans are on the situation surrounding their possible striker options, with no clear target open to sign.

How good has Victor Osimhen been since leaving Napoli?

It came as something of a shock over the summer transfer window when Osimhen decided against Napoli to pursue a move away.

With no clear suitors, he made the loan switch to Galatasaray, where there was plenty of intrigue over how he would perform.

While it was important for him to get game time, some poor performances from the Nigerian international could harm his chances of getting a big transfer.

Fortunately, his goal tally in Turkey has been decent so far, having bagged 14 goals and six assists across all competitions.

Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray stats 2024/25 so far.

With 20 goal involvements, there is enough of a return there to suggest he can still bag plenty of those elsewhere.

His injury record was another concern, with five matches missed through slight muscular issues, so those are up for debate.

Whether Osimhen will make the switch to Arsenal or not remains to be seen, but it could be a huge turning point in the season.
