According to The Athletic, Arsenal are interested in signing another player from Real Madrid this summer – it’s Miguel Gutierrez.
The Gunners have formed an excellent relationship with the Galacticos over the last two years. We signed Dani Ceballos on loan for two seasons and brought in Martin Odegaard as well in January.
Arsenal would still love to sign Odegaard permanently, but that ship seems to have sailed. Real Madrid want to keep hold of the Norwegian next season, but there may be another player at the Bernabeu that Mikel Arteta can lure in.

Arsenal are closely monitoring Miguel Gutierrez
The report claims that Arsenal have been keeping an eye on Gutierrez, who is viewed by many as the next big thing at Real Madrid. The left-back, still only 19, is incredibly talented, but with Marcelo and Ferland Mendy ahead of him in the pecking order, there could be an opportunity for us.
Gutierrez played six games in La Liga last season. He had a very good end to the campaign, and former boss Zinedine Zidane was so impressed with him that he labelled his performance against Granada in May as ‘phenomenal‘.
It is extremely unlikely that Real Madrid would let one of their finest young talents leave on a permanent deal. However, Arteta may just have a trick up his sleeve that could help him get his man this summer.

Miguel Gutierrez and Arsenal boss Arteta have the same agent
Gutierrez is represented by Wasserman, the same agency that represents Arteta as well. That would make communication between the two parties more straightforward, and that could help Arsenal sign him this summer.
It will be interesting to see how much Real Madrid demand for Gutierrez if he asks to leave. The teenager still has three full years left on his contract and the report claims that his deal includes a £34 million release clause as well.

There’s absolutely no way Arsenal will pay that much money for a second-choice left-back, but if Real Madrid agree to let him leave for a reasonable fee, it really wouldn’t be a bad idea for the Gunners to bring him in.
