According to Sport Mediaset, Arsenal have had a big offer for Lautaro Martinez turned down by Inter Milan.

The Telegraph revealed a few days ago that the Argentine sensation is a surprise target for the Gunners this summer. It was claimed that Edu had enquired about the possibility of signing Martinez, but fans weren’t really convinced.

However, Arsenal’s interest seems to be a serious one. The report claims that the Gunners’ initial enquiry has turned into an official offer, but sadly for Edu and Mikel Arteta, Inter Milan and Martinez have both turned us down.

Arsenal have tabled a £60m bid for Lautaro Martinez

Arsenal, who have already forked out £50 million on Ben White this summer, are prepared to spend a lot more. Martinez looks like our top target now, and the report claims that Edu has tabled a £60 million offer to sign him.

However, the Italian champions have rejected our proposal. That’s not too big a blow for Arsenal considering that it was only our opening bid, but the concerning news is that Martinez himself isn’t keen on a move.

The Argentine, labelled as a ‘very complete striker’ by Lionel Messi, is only willing to join one of Spain’s big three clubs. The report claims that he has no interest in playing for a side that are not in the Champions League, which is a blow for Arsenal.

Reports in England say otherwise

Martinez’s stance is understandable, but The Athletic have claimed something completely different to what reports in Italy are saying.

They claim that the Gunners’ interest is genuine and that it is a ‘simple deal’ for Arsenal to complete ‘in terms of negotiating with his club’. The report also says that Martinez would be interested in a move to the Emirates this summer, which is excellent news for us.

However, Arsenal simply cannot sign another striker before offloading Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette. That could prove to be a real problem for us, but Edu is reportedly working on it, and we can only hope he can get it done.
